Policy and Society ranks first place in 2021 Journal Citation Reports
Clarivate Analytics released the 2021 Journal Citation Reports in late June, in which Policy and Society: An Interdisciplinary Journal for Policy Research was ranked in first place out of 49 leading international journals in the category of public administration. With an impact factor of 10.104, Policy and Society is the very first international journal to reach an impact factor of 10 in this discipline, marking an impressive milestone. This extraordinary impact factor has also placed the journal in second place among 187 journals within the political science category, jumping up 21 places from last year.
Policy and Society has a close relationship with FLASS, where Dr Alex He Jingwei, Associate Professor and Associate Head (Research and Development) of the Department of Asian and Policy Studies (APS), serves as the publication’s Associate Editor (Asia). Dr Kris Hartley, an Assistant Professor with APS, is the Associate Editor (Social Media and Communications) of the journal. A Fulbright US Scholar (2020), Dr Hartley worked at APS from 2018 to 2022. He left EdUHK in August to join another local university.
Co-editors of this premier journal include Professor M Ramesh and Professor Darryl Jarvis, both renowned scholars in the field of public administration and policy research. While Professor Ramesh founded APS in 2012, Professor Jarvis served as the Head of APS during the 2012/13 academic year, as well as between January 2017 and April 2020. Professor Jarvis was also the Associate Dean (Research and Postgraduate Studies) of FLASS between 2012 and 2015.
Enjoying a strong reputation and wide impact in the research field of public policy and administration, Policy and Society has been published by Oxford University Press since January 2021.
